Terms and Conditions

Last updated September 15, 2026

These terms govern the use of techprobably.com. Reading, linking to, or otherwise using the site means accepting them. A reader who does not accept them should stop using the site.

The site is operated by Joel Nithushan as a personal blog. References to “the site” mean techprobably.com and everything published on it.

Intellectual property

The posts, page copy, original images, diagrams, and the TechProbably name and logo are the writer’s own work and are protected by copyright. Publication does not transfer ownership.

Readers may quote a short excerpt, normally a paragraph or two, with clear attribution and a link to the original post. Full articles may not be republished, in whole or in substantial part, on another website, in a newsletter, or as derivative content, without written permission.

Code samples published in posts may be used freely in a reader’s own projects, commercial or otherwise, without attribution and without payment. Code is provided as is, with no warranty, and the Disclaimer applies to it in full.

Some images used here, including product photography and screenshots of other people’s software, remain the property of their respective owners and appear for identification and commentary. Those are not the writer’s to license onward.

Acceptable use

Readers may not:

  • Scrape the site, or access it through automated bulk requests, including for the purpose of assembling a training corpus.
  • Access the site at a rate that degrades it for other readers, or attempt to bypass caching or rate limiting.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server, its database, or any connected account.
  • Transmit malware, or use the contact form to send spam, malicious links, or automated submissions.
  • Use the site or its content for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that misrepresents its authorship.

Comments

Where comments are open on a post, the commenter keeps ownership of what they wrote but grants the site a non-exclusive right to display, store, and moderate it. Comments may be moderated, edited for length, or removed without notice, particularly where they are spam, abusive, or purely promotional.

External links and third-party content

This site links to third-party sites that it does not control and is not responsible for. A link is not an endorsement of the destination, its accuracy, its products, or its privacy practices. External links are followed at the reader’s own discretion.

Advertising

Advertising on this site is served by Google AdSense and is subject to Google’s own terms and policies. Interactions with an advertisement are between the reader and the advertiser. The site does not select individual ads and is not party to any transaction that follows one.

Availability and limitation of liability

The site is provided on an as-is and as-available basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. There is no uptime guarantee. It may be offline for maintenance or hosting problems, and posts may be edited, corrected, or withdrawn at any time.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the writer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, profit, time, or goodwill, arising from use of this site or reliance on anything published on it. This applies whether a claim is founded in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not permit it to be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from use of this site.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the site changes. A revised version applies from the moment it is published on this page, and the last updated date at the top of the page shows when that was. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated terms are accepted.
